Designer Sales UK (DSUK) opened its doors today at Chelsea Old Town Hall.
Run by Elaine Foster for 20 years, she's finally brought it to King's Road Chelsea, all the way from Brick Lane and the Boiler House.
Speaking to Kingsroad.co.uk she said: "DSUK needed a change and being a punk and later a new romantic, I decided it was time to draw on inspiration from my youth and head to King's Road Chelsea, the epicentre of punk rock in the 70s. I just loved the whole vibe on the King's Road and remember saving up all my pennies to buy a pair of baggy stockings from Vivienne Westwood and Malcolm Mclaren's early collections at the infamous World's End.
"Bringing DSUK back to a place where I loved to hang out, feels totally right for now. The labels I sell just look perfect in this new setting. Chelsea Old Town Hall, a gorgeously oppulent building that makes you feel good when you're in it, is the perfect venue for DSUK with all my different labels from Vivienne Westwood to John Galliano to Lynn Mackie at amazing discount. I'm also introducing an exciting Vintage market on the Saturday, as well as running 2 day workshops."
Elaine started off working for Jasper Conran in the 1980s when sample sales were just for the elite customers and pioneered the introduction of sample sales to the public.
